Garnet Valley School District’s Wellness Committee

The Garnet Valley School District recognizes that student wellness and proper nutrition are essential to students’ physical well-being, growth, development, and readiness to learn. We are committed to fostering a school environment that supports wellness through access to nutritious foods, meaningful nutrition education, and regular opportunities for physical activity as part of the overall educational experience. In this supportive environment, students are encouraged to develop and practice healthy lifestyle habits that contribute to both their well-being and academic success.

The Garnet Valley School District Wellness Committee is a collaborative advisory group dedicated to promoting the health and well-being of all students. Comprised of administrators, teachers, food service staff, health professionals, parents, students, and community members, the committee supports the development, implementation, and ongoing review of the district’s Local School Wellness Policy. The committee ensures compliance with federal and state requirements while promoting healthy eating, physical activity, and social-emotional wellness. Through the ongoing review of programs, progress, and community feedback, the Wellness Committee helps guide continuous improvement efforts that support the whole child across all schools in the district.
